Regions4Climate: Reflections from the First Consortium Meeting in Sitia

Published by Dimitra Panou on

Our first consortium meeting in Sitia, Greece has been a journey of learning, collaboration, and inspiration! From April 23rd to 25th, we explored the beauty of the region while discussing climate resilience strategies and the progress of all 12 regions in their work within the project.

🌴 Day 1: We visited the historic Toplou Monastery and marvelled at the beauty of the Vai Palm tree forest, drawing inspiration from nature’s resilience.

🏛️ Day 2: Our discussions continued as we explored the ancient ruins of Zacros, reflecting on the lessons of the past to build a resilient future.

🫒 Day 3: Our journey concluded with a visit to the Papagiannades olive oil mill, where we learned about sustainable agriculture practices and the importance of local resilience while enjoying a wonderful oil tasting experience.

Thank you, Sitia, for hosting us and providing us with unforgettable experiences! A special thank you to Thanasis Sfetsos, PAVLOS KAPETANAKIS and their team for all their hard work organising and accommodating the partners. We’re energised and ready to continue our work towards a more resilient future.
