I am working as a Associate Researcher at the Environmental Research Laboratory (EREL) of the National Center for Scientific Research “Demokritos” (NCSRD), in various European and National projects, such as LIFE RESYSTAL (project coordinator), TransformAr (PI), NEVEMORE (PI). I am also collaborating with the Institution of Informatics and Telecommunication (IIT) at NCSRD in internal projects or in Europeans, such as EUROCC.
My work focuses primarily on the modeling physical processes using deterministic, stochastic and data driven techniques. There are two areas of interest:
- Using molecular simulations techniques (Molecular Dynamics, Monte Carlo), Machine Learning and Data mining analysis, in various physical systems, such as nano-composite, climate and weater patterns etc.
- Performing risk assessment in interconnected critical infrastructures
- Improving predictions of models of seasonal (10 days to 3 months) and climate simulations using Deep Learning and Big Data Analytics
Moreover, I have been working as scientific computing consultant at EREL and School of Pedagogy and Technology Education (ASPETE) with main responsibilities the selection, installation and administration of the hardware and software of High Performance Computer (HPC) infrastructures.
